Not All Heroes Wear Capes

Golfers, celebrities, community members and more came together for the Second Annual Hope In One Celebrity Golf Classic at the end of April. This group of true heroes helped raise $305,000 for Give Kids The World. These funds will go a long way in bringing happiness and hope to the special families who visit the Village.

Give Kids The World

Give Kids The World Village is an 84-acre nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida where children with life-threatening illnesses and their families come from around the world to enjoy weeklong, cost-free vacations. Its goal is to provide everything these families need to experience a vacation of a lifetime.

Celebrity Interactions

The Hope In One Celebrity Golf Classic is a first-class player experience. A Give Kids The World celebrity friend is paired with each foursome as they compete in this action-filled event. With fun challenges and skills contests at almost every hole, it’s an experience to remember!

We were honored to host the following celebrities in 2018: Terrence Barber, Shayna Baszler, Leon Bright, Johnny Dawkins, Lawrence Dawsey, EC3, Sean Foley, Robert Gamez, Steven Lee Hall, James Harrell, Kevin House, Charlie Huhn, Tom James, Aaron Jones, James Jones, Skip Kendall, Ray Lankford, Greg Lovelady, Jon McBride, Rick Monroe, Ricky Nattiel, Wil Nieves, Ricochet, Carolyn Rivera, Scotty 2 Hotty, Garry Sheffield, Barry Smith, Jessee Solomon, Frank Vogel, Whit Watson, Richy Werenski and Rob West.

A Caring Community

For the second year, the tournament was hosted at The Golden Bear Club in the prestigious Keene’s Pointe community of Windermere, Florida. This private country club is bordered by the Butler Chain of Lakes and features majestic oaks, towering cypress trees and all types of natural flora.

Keene’s Pointe is also home to a few of the celebrities and a number of the event volunteers who proudly came together to help a great cause.

“I’m so happy to have been part of an event that will help create wonderful experiences and bring some happiness to families,” resident and volunteer Halima Stevenson said.

Join us next year and be part of a community that truly makes a difference!

Looking Forward to 2019

We welcomed many returning golfers and supporters, as well as new faces to the 2018 tournament; we hope to do the same in 2019! The experience will of course include great golf, games and giveaways and the celebrity pairings party—hosted the evening before—will be back again next year!

Details about the 3rd Annual Hope In One tournament are coming soon. Plan to take part and help ensure that children with life-threatening illnesses will continue to have their wishes and dreams come true.
